Monday, Monday
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20
Happy Monday!
Why the excitement?
Because today is one more day that the Lord has made—beyond the egg hunts, the chocolate bunnies (ears gone by now-yum), the church services and the dress up clothes—today is the day after Easter—and what better day to celebrate the Lord.
The hoopla is over. The family dinners are finished. The schedules are back to normal.
And God is still God.
And Jesus is still our Savior.
And the Holy Spirit still remains.
The authors of the book, Jesus Manifesto, put it eloquently,
Jesus is not just one way, a better way, a pleasant way on a good day. He is the way.
Jesus is not just one truth, a higher truth, or a more personal truth. He is the truth.
Jesus is not just another life, a nicer life, a more abundant life. He is the life of God Himself.
So what’s on the agenda for your Monday?
The usual? The routine? The boring?
Make it count.
Four days ago we remembered the nails. We remembered the cross. We remembered the sacrifice.
Don’t let it all be in vain a few days later.
Because today–a day the Lord has made just for us, is cause for rejoicing.
Why?
Because He gave us Easter.
But Easter won’t mean a thing, if it’s all forgotten on Monday.
“Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” John 20:27 NIV
